Duration provides resistance to tannin bleed and rust stains with two coats, but I'll usually spot prime surface discoloration with a separate stain blocking primer first. I've never had a callback using this paint. Duration is advertised as a one-coat paint, but I always apply two coats for enhanced durability and sheen. The gloss finish is shinier and easier to clean. The satin or gloss finish is best for painting doors. I've painted wood doors with this product, using a brush and roller, as well as spraying vinyl window shutters and aluminum siding with my airless sprayer. Duration is compatible with multiple substrates. The paint is thick, but it brushes on really nice with awesome coverage. This stuff is expensive, but very durable as an exterior door paint.
